The Ikonette was the first camera design to bear fruit after the merger that created Zeiss Ikon. It was not an overwhelming technical design but a step to consolidate a similar camera from each of the predecessor companies. It came to the catalogs in 1928 but lasted only a few years as customers were looking for more features from the Zeiss Ikon brand.
