A printing of the text and documentation of a talk given to the First Western Photohistory Symposium in 1980 by the manager of the Photo Lens Division of Carl Zeiss who was the man who managed the closure of the Zeiss Ikon and Stuttgart factories in 19171. The talk covered much of the Zeiss Ikon history as well as the need for closure.
